Lake Mburo NP

Lake Mburo is the largest of five lakes which, together with the surrounding wetlands, account for 20% of the park's surface of 260 km². This makes this small park very interesting for birding all the year round (310 recorded).

The rest of the park is covered with acacia savannah and notable for supporting a wide variety of antilopes. It is the only place where the impala still occurs and it is the best place to see the eland, Africa's largest antilope. Large herds of buffalo and zebra's are common in this park but there are no lions (they are extinct), elephants or giraffes.
