Yes, you need a visa! Zanzibar is part of the United Republic of Tanzania. When travelling to Tanzania and Zanzibar ensure your passport is valid for six months beyond the end of your stay. You can buy a single-entry visa from any Tanzanian embassy. If you have been unable, or have not had time to procure a Visa in advance, it is possible to obtain a tourists' single entry visa at Zanzibar. It’s best to pay in dollars cash. Euro and Pound prices are higher.
